Jesus has been so good to me!  I was fortunate to be saved at an early age.  I was blessed to have a mother who took me to church, read me the Bible and sent me to Christian schools; all that despite the fact that my father had chosen to leave the family and pursue the things of this world.  It was from this example, that no matter what the circumstances, that I learned to trust Jesus.    

Forty years ago, I met the love of my life, Darla.  She was someone who loved the Bible and Jesus as much as I did.  We’ve enjoyed many years of seeking God, reading the Word and doing ministry together.  She is my fellow life adventurer.  Whether it be reading the Word together, traveling in the RV, visiting tourist traps, visiting family, going on daily walks, water skiing and snow skiing; life is just better when we are together.  We’ve now been married for 39 years and have two adult children (Dar & Darsen), one daughter-in-law (Abby) and one we hope will soon be our daughter-in-law (Kat).   By the way, I also took up surfing late in life, so if you see me out there, I can use all the pointers I can get.  

I’m a numbers guy (an accountant) who has been blessed to serve in both “non-profit” ministries and churches and “for-profit” businesses.  I am a Certified Management Accountant, a Certified Financial Manager and have my MBA.  I love helping Christ Church Carpinteria with financial and non-profit advice. My life goal is to “love the Lord my God with all my body, soul and mind”; and at the end of my life here on earth, to hear, “well done, my good and faithful servant."
